Follow along with the events of Easter week, leading to the death and resurrection of Jesus. Each day, scripture readings and reflection prompts will guide us to pause and meditate on the reality of Easter.
SATURDAY
READ
Matthew 27:62-66
PAUSE + REFLECT
- The tomb was sealed and guarded. No one would expect what was coming. What are some of the unexpected ways Jesus has come through for you?
- Jesus’ followers could do nothing but wait and reflect on Jesus’ teachings. In what areas of life do you need to wait on the Lord by reflecting on His word in Scripture?
Family Worship
Each day, we’ve provided a family element for those with younger children (toddler – elementary) that ties into the theme of the adult devotional. Whether it’s in the morning, at mealtime or at bedtime - we encourage you to read, talk, and pray together! We’ve included both scripture and a passage from the Jesus Storybook Bible that goes along with the day’s theme. Choose whichever is best for your family for the daily reading. We’re praying for God to move in the hearts in your home this Easter.
READ ABOUT IT
A fun way to engage kids with scripture is to act it out!
Today during Easter week was the Sabbath – a day where people did not work or clean the house or do the dishes or go to the market – they just rested and worshipped God. It’s why Jesus’ friends didn’t go to the tomb until Sunday. But a day that was meant for rest we imagine brought very little rest for these people. Today, we read from Psalm 23, looking to God as the Good Shepherd that we can trust him to be.

Psalm 23
TALK ABOUT IT
Guide discussion and let kids ask their own questions too!
1. What sort of things does this reading tell us about God?
2. Who is the shepherd and who are the sheep?
3. What kind of feeling or emotion do you get when you hear these words?
4. What Jesus was able to do on the cross made it possible for us (his sheep) to be lead back to where we have always belonged with God (our shepherd).
